Amy Paulson Director

Mrs. Paulson has consulted and presented locally and nationally on a variety of
topics related to coalition development and maintenance, community
leadership building, strategic development, action planning, group dynamics,
health policy advocacy, chronic disease, and pediatric health. Amy Paulson has
over fifteen years of experience in public health program management. Ms.
Paulson joined CINCH as a program coordinator in 2001 and assumed the role
of Executive Director of CINCH in 2006. She also serves as an Instructor in the
Department of Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Children’s
Hospital of The King’s Daughters. As the Executive Director of CINCH, she is
responsible for coalition development, fundraising, grant writing and
management, program development and implementation, staff supervision, and
general operations. Her background is in public safety, prevention behavior,
chronic disease research and programming, and organizational psychology. She
is interested in health promotion, behavior, and social justice as it applies to
community systems and policies, particularly in under-served populations.

Amy holds Bachelor’s degrees in Business in Health Care Administration and in
Psychology, both from Appalachian State University, and a Masters of Public
Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Sara Rothenberg Assistant Director

Sara Rothenberg joined CINCH as the Assistant Director and an Instructor of
Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2017. Sara has developed
extensive early-career experience in health policy in Washington, D.C. as a
project manager and senior researcher for the George Washington University.
Her work has focused on health and access disparities in medically underserved
populations. She has collaborated with diverse groups of stakeholders around
Medicaid expansion and national health reform, developing issue briefs and
policy analyses for such organizations as The Commonwealth Fund. Originally
from upstate New York, Sara has continued to pursue her passion for public
health with a focus on prevention, health promotion, and targeted community
initiatives.

Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Behavior, and Society from the
University of Rochester, and a Master of Public Health from the George
Washington University.

Danielle Jenkins Program Implementation Assistant

Danielle joined CINCH in December 2023 as the Program Implementation Assistant for the Bright Views program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health in 2021, followed by her master’s degree in Public Health in 2023. Danielle has collaborated with nonprofits in Virginia, offering support and education to communities. Her background includes program development and implementation gained from internships and volunteer experiences.

Andrea Ward
Andrea Ward Program Coordinator

Andrea has been a valued member of the CINCH team since 2022. Initially, she worked as a Program Associate for the 757Breastfeeds and HALO programs, and now she holds the role of Program Coordinator for 757Breastfeeds. Andrea is committed to advancing equity and justice in reproductive, perinatal, and child health. With a focus on maternal and child health outcomes, she has actively participated in various community-based health projects, supporting mothers locally in Hampton Roads and internationally as a breastfeeding advocate, nutritional counselor, and birth and postpartum doula. Her expertise lies in community engagement, fostering partnerships, and providing culturally competent health education.

Andrea earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
