Engaging the community to improve

children's health in Hampton Roads

Access to Care

Ensuring that children have access to quality healthcare has been a priority of CINCH for many years.

  • From 2004 to 2007, CINCH projects were instrumental in enrolling thousands of eligible children into state insurance programs such as FAMIS.
  • We've educated the community on how health disparities can impact access to healthcare for minority populations using the Unnatural Causes documentary series.
  • We've also worked with families and healthcare providers to identify and address those barriers preventing children from receiving the care they need at the right time and right place.

CINCH continues to work to ensure that all children in Hampton Roads have equal access to healthy food options; places to play and become/continue to be physically active; and environments free from tobacco smoke exposure.
